Privacy Policy
King's Cross Church runs this website. This policy explains what we collect when you visit it, email us or give, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
We don't sell personal information, we don't run advertising, and we only collect what we need to welcome you and care for our church family.
Information you give us
When you email us, ask about visiting, ask for our weekly email or give, you choose to share things like:
- Your name
- Your email address and phone number
- Your mailing address, if you give by check
- Anything else you write in a message
We use it to answer you, welcome you, keep you up to date on church life and keep our giving records. That's the whole reason we ask.
Please don't email us Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or passwords. We never need them.
Our weekly email
Pastor Christopher sends a weekly email with church news and Sunday details. If you ask to get it, we add your email address to our list and use it only to send that email.
To stop getting it, reply and ask, and we'll take you off the list.
Giving
Online gifts are made on the secure website of Christian Ministry Alliance (CMA), our fiscal sponsor. CMA processes your gift and sends your donor receipt, under its own privacy policy. Our website never sees your card or bank details.
If you give by check, by mail or at worship, we use the name and details on your check only to deposit your gift and keep our giving records.
We keep giving records confidential, and we never publish who gave or how much.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, ours records some technical details when you visit:
- Your IP address
- Your browser and device type
- The pages you look at and how long you stay
- The website or search that sent you here
This comes from our web host's server logs and from Google Analytics. We also use Google Search Console to see which searches bring people to us. We don't use any of it to figure out who you are.
Cookies
Our website uses Google Analytics cookies (their names start with _ga) to count visits and show us which pages people actually read.
We don't use advertising or retargeting cookies. No ad network runs on our website, and we don't run behavioral advertising of any kind.
Our sermon player comes from YouTube, and YouTube can set its own cookies when the player loads. YouTube and Google services explains more.
We don't show a cookie banner. If you'd rather not be counted, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Our website still works without them.
Browsers can also send a Do Not Track signal. There's no agreed standard for how websites should respond, and ours doesn't act on it.
YouTube and Google services
Our sermon player comes from YouTube. When it loads, YouTube (which Google owns) can set cookies and collect details like your IP address, under Google's privacy policy. The player waits until you scroll near it before it loads.
Our pages also load their typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser asks Google's servers for the fonts, so Google sees your IP address when a page loads.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't rent it or trade it either.
We only share it with the services that run our website and our church:
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy, and it covers the information they handle too.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
How long we keep it
We keep emails and contact details as long as they're useful for answering you and caring for our church family. Giving records are kept as long as tax and legal rules require. Google Analytics keeps visit data for the retention period set on our account.
If you'd like us to delete your details sooner, ask us. Your choices explains how.
How we protect it
We use standard protections: an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access limited to the people who need it, and reputable hosting and email providers.
No website or email service can promise perfect security. If something is sensitive, you're always welcome to talk with Pastor Christopher in person.
Your choices
About the information you've given us, you can ask for:
- A copy of it
- A correction if something is wrong
- Deletion, except giving records the law requires us to keep
- No more emails from us
Email Christopher@kingscrossmn.com and we'll do our best to help.
Children
Our website is meant for adults and families. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we'll delete it.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, including YouTube, Google Maps and Christian Ministry Alliance. We aren't responsible for how those websites handle privacy. Once you leave ours, their policies apply.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the date at the top changes, and the updated policy applies from that date.
